‘Strong mayor’ measure heads to the November ballot

Mayor Barbara Lee broke a 4–4 Council tie on June 16 to put a charter measure before voters that would let the mayor veto legislation and budget items — a citywide change that would reshape how decisions get made in every district.

City budget — adoption vote expected by month’s end
